Activities
The exchange between ASEM Mozambique and the Grupo de Apoio Mutuo Pé no Chão of Recife (Brazil) consisted of three phases. The first two phases, supported and promoted by AMG, took place in 2010 in Brazil and in 2011 in Mozambique with short visits on the part of ASEM and Pé no Chão representatives to learn about one another.
The third phase, supported by AMI, focused on training a young Mozambican teacher by having him participate in the activities undertaken in the favelas of Recife by Pé no Chão, working for four months during 2012 with the Pé no Chão teachers involved in street education, art, art education and support to families.
At the same time, this project contributed to sensitizing the Brazilian team and deepening its knowledge of the artistic and socio-cultural characteristics of their African roots, which Pé no Chão promotes as an instrument of civic education.
By training the young ASEM Mozambique educators the aim was to support the educational/artistic/social training of the entire ASEM Mozambique team.
